This extraordinary 31-day course takes us through valleys, across mountaintops, and down white water of western Wyoming. If you are searching for a wilderness experience offering the best of the west, look no further.

The expedition begins when your plane touches down in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. First stop is our base camp and headquarters, just 10 minutes from the airport.

The next morning we leave for a backpacker's paradise in the high country. Our extended expedition explores rugged canyons, towering peaks, and serene alpine lakes. While backpacking we hone skills such as group dynamics, leadership, and backcountry orienteering. We focus on all aspects of Trails' core curriculum. Teamwork and personal initiative get you to our destination and beyond.

Getting our feet wet literally describes the next section - white water kayaking. Base camped in Jackson Hole, we spend the following days kayaking with professional guides. Starting in a lake we progress to the Snake and Hoback Rivers. A combination of still and moving water gives everyone the chance to enjoy the graceful freedom of white water kayaking.

Climbing the Grand Teton has more than one high point. We spend two days attending climbing school, learning the fundamentals of climbing technique and safety. Overhang rappels, multi-pitch climbs, and the world famous Exum Climbing Guides combine to make this no ordinary day at school. No previous experience is necessary. Hiking up to the Exum hut in the lower saddle of Garnet Canyon positions us well for a challenging summit attempt. The sunrise warms us as we head for the summit of the Grand Teton at 13,770 feet.

A final celebration back at Trails celebrates our rewarding expedition. You traveled to Wyoming with your eye on the Grand Teton. Returning home, you carry with you the fondest memories of friendships made along the trail.
