Family Camp Programs

Camp is an exciting and fun experience, when it is handled with proper planning and the parents are interacting with the proper camp for the camper. We believe there is a best-fit camp for all and that may or may not be with us. We are delighted you have enquired at Mullins Camps and Trails Wilderness about our programs. Please take a minute to look at our programs and please compare to other camps. While we believe you will be impressed with our camp, it is important to insure your child's successful camp experience by matching our program, dates, and philosophy with your family's needs.

Mullins Camps provide a variety of levels of fun for each camper. Frequently, parents of younger kids are interested in a camp experinece but unsure of sleepaway options due to distance, time, and what will set their child up for success. We have two options for parents with these concerns.

1. Family Camp: Go ahead and come to camp yourself! Parents frequently choose a camp experience based on their own successful childhood experiences. You may have loved craft shop, canoeing, biking, swimming and campfires when you were a child. Our Family Camps offer the same experience for shorter durations.

2. Rookie Camp: This is the ultimate first-camp experience. If you are seeking a more independent experience for your child our three-day two-night option allows kids and you to try it out. We pick up kids with the regular weekly group and go to camp. This group does everything everyone else does; from canoeing to visiting the cave to fun campfires. Then we return the kids to meet you in St. Louis. This is the session for families looking to just try it out, dates that don't match other camps, and those seeking a first-camp experience. Staff with specific training and skills in age-appropriate needs and behaviors lead this fun group. Our goal for the Rookies is to return home safe and happy.

Mullins Camp and TWS directors and staff pride themselves on creating strong parent-staff partnerships. Through ongoing feedback and communication with parents, we hope to ensure a successful summer for everyone.

That's the experience on our programs.
At Camp, it's all about safety first. We strive to be a truly safe place -- physically and emotionally -- where children can take on new challenges and test new skills with confidence. Our active program to understand and eliminate bullying creates a winning environment for all.

We believe safety is our first responsibility. Only when children are protected and secure, can we start thinking about ways to have fun!
