Directors
Whigger and Mary Jo Mullins founded, own and form the leadership
core of Mullins Camp and Trails Wilderness School. They are third
generation camp directors dedicated to working with young adults
in the wilderness, giving students a healthy supportive environment
to grow, learn, and have fun.
Whigger
has a BS of Nursing from St. Louis University. He worked as a nurse
on the adolescent unit of Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
Prior to directing Trails, he worked on staff with the Boy Scouts
of America and as a Counselor, Trip Leader and Assistant Director
at another camp. Whigger grew up in St. Louis. He and his family
lived for three years on a sailboat in the Caribbean. Personal expeditions
include backpacking, canoeing, climbing, surfing and horse packing
trips in many Western States, Alaska, Europe, Mexico and Africa.
He presently serves as Secretary on the board of the Association
of Indpendent Camps.
For
Mary Jo skiing, hiking, fly fishing, and horseback riding
were a way of life growing up on a ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
After graduating from Ethel Walker School in Connecticut, Mary Jo
received a BS of Business Administration from Washington University
in St. Louis. She has worked as a Counselor and Trip Leader at Teton
Valley Ranch Camp. Following college, Mary Jo worked at Camp Wyman
in St. Louis as an outreach program instructor. Her personal expeditions
include backpacking, climbing, and horse packing in the West, Alaska,
and Europe.
Whigger
and Mary Jo have three young children, Mariah, Benjamin and Michael.
They live in St. Louis during the winter and Jackson Hole during
the summer.
