Purpose
Established in 1995, Trails Wilderness School and Mullins Camps provide boys and girls with summers filled with fun, adventures and challenges through our rich in-camp activity program, wilderness trips, and outdoor living. These experiences enrich the lives of kids through the camp experience. Our world class programming, incredible destinations, extraordinary staff, and laugh-until-you-fall-over campfires are all directed toward a peak camp experience for you.

Goals and Mission
The goal of our camps is to provide a safe and supportive education through fun in the outdoors. Wilderness travel activities such as hiking, canoeing, rafting, surfing, sea kayaking, rock climbing, new cultural experiences, and just being away from home for the first time foster individual growth. Fun and challenging activities encourage self-confidence, responsibility, and leadership. Your child will develop these values through our focus on camp community. Our beautiful wilderness settings create environments of clear choice in which campers gain confidence and practice new judgment skills. Campers develop and use new leadership skills while having fun!

Safety
Safety comes first at all our camps. Our excellent safety record proves our commitment to your well being. Experienced staff and professional guides work together to provide everyone with safe, high-quality camps. Campers learn and practice safety rules and techniques on all courses. Through education, practice and supervision we manage and minimize the risks associated with wilderness activities. Our voluntary accreditation by the American Camping Association and the Western Association of Independent Camps provides an outside review process to assure you we meet and exceed established camp safety and management standards. We are proud of our excellent safety record.

Skills
By design, most programs allow each person the opportunity to experience the outdoors at his or her own pace, whether the camper is a beginner or more experienced. Every course begins by covering the fundamentals of wilderness camping and travel: safety, minimized impact camping, natural interpretation, and basic outdoor skill proficiency.

Leadership and teamwork form the core of our community focus and personal development. They also form an essential part of our great programs. Using various leadership styles and techniques each camper has the chance to focus on the group, drawing it together to meet each new challenge. Our wilderness settings create environments of clear choices in which campers gain confidence in their judgement skills. Safety is the first consideration on every course.

Trails Wilderness School elevates the backcountry experience from wilderness adventures to fun educational expeditions.

Mullins Camps are designed to develop interpersonal skills while having fun. This younger group of campes enjoy traditional camp activities such as sports, canoeing, hiking, and mountain biking while living in a camp community.

We believe our programs continue beyond the farewell banquet to form a foundation for a life full of adventure, leadership and friendships.
